The Registered In The Netherlands screensaver streams the newest entries in the Dutch national vehicle register: make, model, body type and the officially recorded colour of each vehicle put on a plate. The RDW publishes the whole register openly, one row per licence plate, updated daily. It runs in the browser with nothing to install; press ESC to exit.

How the Registered In The Netherlands screensaver works

The saver reads The RDW open vehicle register, served through the Dutch national open data platform.

No account and no key: the request goes straight from your browser, or from this site's own refreshed copy of the feed where the source does not allow browser access.

Values are drawn on a canvas that resizes with the window, so it works on a laptop or a wall display.

If the source is unreachable the saver says so on screen rather than showing stale numbers as though they were current.

A worked example

Each row shows a coloured dot matching the registered colour of the car, the make and model, the body type and the registration date. It is a plain readout of what the country actually bought yesterday — a Fiat Panda, a Toyota Proace van, an Audi A4 — rather than a manufacturer's sales claim.
