Screensaver Mode
Screensaver mode plays Afterglow like a real screensaver — it goes fullscreen and cycles a random saver every few minutes. Set the interval and which categories are in the pool, or let it auto-start when the page sits idle. Press ESC to exit, or the arrow key to skip.
Hit Start screensaver and Afterglow goes fullscreen and shuffles through random screensavers, changing every few minutes. Use the right-arrow key to skip to the next, and ESC to come back.
Choose how often it changes, tick which categories are in the shuffle pool, and optionally turn on auto-start when idle so it behaves like a classic desktop screensaver. Your settings are saved in this browser.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I start the screensaver?
- Press the Start screensaver button. It goes fullscreen and cycles random screensavers; press ESC to exit, or the right-arrow key to skip to the next one.
- Can it start on its own?
- Yes. Turn on 'Auto-start when idle' and set a delay; after that long with no mouse or keyboard activity, the shuffle starts automatically, just like a desktop screensaver.
- Which screensavers does it show?
- Whichever categories you tick in the shuffle pool. By default it shows the showcase categories that look great with no setup, and you can add or remove any category.
- Are my settings saved?
- Yes — the interval, the pool and the idle settings are stored in your browser's local storage, so they persist between visits on this device.
