The Fear & Greed screensaver shows the live Crypto Fear & Greed Index on a sweeping dial, reading the market's mood from extreme fear to extreme greed, from the key-less alternative.me API. It's free, runs in your browser, display only, and ESC exits.
How the Fear & Greed screensaver works
The saver fetches the Crypto Fear & Greed Index, a 0-to-100 gauge of market sentiment built from volatility, momentum and other signals.
It draws a speedometer dial from red extreme fear at zero, through yellow neutral, to green extreme greed at one hundred.
A needle eases to the current value, with the number and its label shown in the center.
A 30-day sparkline below traces how the mood has swung, and it refreshes every few minutes.
A worked example
The needle might sit at 18 · Extreme Fear deep in the red after a sell-off, then creep toward green as confidence returns — the sparkline beneath showing the mood swinging over the past month.
